whilst searching for an erstwhile Triumph Spifire enthusiast's site i managed to find one populated, it seems, by nothing but anal retentives. i realize now, that while Spits are only a small portion of what you and i converse about HERE, at least we are CONVERSING! a worse bunch of stuffed, starched shirtfronts i had never encountered outside Babcock and Wilcox, one of my previous employers.
may i say again how glad i am that, though responses are usually delayed by a half-day due to you chaps being asleep while i'm awake, i DO get them!

i wish it were possible to kick over a table and spill some drinks in the other site.... just to get things moving!

some clubs and groups do start taking themselves a little too seriously after a while don't they. All that happens is that people start to drift away, leaving the remaining set arguing amongst themselves!

Been there done that in car clubs and other clubs, I may join the odd club, but not get involved it in too deeply anymore. I may go to one or two events as a club, but they are much more fun on your own, I find you can go for a look around, or go for a walk when you want, instead of having to look after the clubstand.

The beekeeping club has gone the same way, they don't want to know new members unless they have loads of bees, or something to bring to the club. Then certain members have got very rude, and arguements, over trivial things, when I was on the Comitee, I used to be asked my oppinion, on giving it, the amount of times I was told basically you are too inexperienced/young, you will agree with us after a while, then they move on. I have left the Comitee, and the club, never again!

Cheers

Dave
