Hi we have recently purchased the Stirling advertised on this site - she is a beaut and we are looking forward to send Shiona and Paul the pictures when we finish the work. But what we would love is some more information about Stephens and West who are the manufacturers. They were from Cirencester, but all searches lead to the Cheltenham owners club who have already informed one caller that they are not the right site for them. We cant seem to find any history. SO can anyone help with info or pics or know where the Stirling owners club hide out - we would be grateful. By the way she towed beautifully from Falkirk and had an imposing presence on the road. Very Happy

We have a 1958 Stephens & West Stirling 10 caravan, this was purchased in quite a bad state in Sept 2005. My husband spent a long while stripping it back to bare metal, he had to replace the aluminium panel (to the left of the door) and also re-build the door.
Quite a lot of the interior wood panelling was rotten and had to be replaced, but all the doors etc were fine
I completely re-upholstered the interior, with new curtains.
We have shown it many Steam Rallies (within 40ml radius of where we live ) over the past 3 Summers and it attracts quite a bit of attention, as we also have a 1957 Wolseley 1500 which we show with it.
I do hope you enjoy doing yours up, I am not aware of an owners club for them but there are still a few arround.
The best people to obtain info from is Stirling Caravan Services, of Woodmancote Nr Cirencester, they used to work for Stephens & West and are really helpful.
Hope this reply isnt too long, I will try to add some photos, if you want any further info please pm me. http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h218/Clarina_2006/1958%20Stirling%20Caravan/

In my collection I have about 50 pics of Stirlings that I can send you if you send me a pm with your email address.

Your photobucket album needs a password to be viewed so i guess you need to change it to a public album.
