| Just wondering if anyone on the forum has a Huddersfield built Karrier. ie a pre-Rootes vehicle. Not seeking to buy or anything like that, but would be interested to chat with any owners. |

I remember years ago when I was an apprentice with the Post Office the main cables gangs used Karriers. Think they were Bantams or Gamecocks.We also had a couple of Low Loaders.
I was out one day with the gaffer and he was doing a brake test with the Tapley meter (remember them) and he slammed the brakes on and about half a dozen telegraph poles shot out the front and went all over the road. They hadnt been tied in . Happy days eh...You would get the jail for that nowadays but in the 60s no one bothered the same.  _________________ The Clan Chieftain |
