After I had replaced the broken bolt/screws on the frame, it was time to clean up the ones on the upright too.
Grey & dull
Bit rough around the edges too
Result after 2 min with - a drilling machine - some emery paper - some polish, and an old cloth =
Finished -

Gascap after a polish, and moving the lock pegs around,
so they match the "new" keys 100%
Fuel sender, after some work - checked & OK again.

The cleaning of interior was interrupted by our annual indoor swapmeet.
Here I found a few original relay,s with the correct date for my car.
Also found a correct rear screen relay (the one with wires on) - I know = its anorak stuff, but I like details.

Hi Kevin, thanks & yes - its nice to see (and smell) the difference
Have used the whole can of interior cleaning foam, you saw in the picture.
Two cans of silicone spray - one can of brake cleaner & 7 cans of Motip vinyl make up, with Lemon smell - kept spraying the seats, untill they stopped absorbing the previus coat I had given them.
She does smell good now
Here is what the luggage compartment looked like =
10 min later =

This is NOT what I wanted to see, when I climbed up under the roof, to insulate the garage.
My car is standing right under this beam
Here is a better wiew =
The 2 spiked plates in the other end of the beams had also rusted apart.
I fitted new galvanized plates, with LONG screws (on all) -
Good thing I have 2 big garage jacks =
They got the ceiling back up in no time - all nice & straight now.
The whole ceiling now have 2 layers of insulation = 35-40 cm.

|
|
Time to address the B18 trim, which now can go back on the car, thanks to repro clips now being available.
Here is the difference between B18 (below) & B20 (top) trim =
1st one done -
back -
Removing dents -
Both rear trim finished -
enough for one night.
