I deliver parts for Scotlands largest motor factor.
When garages say "We only fit genuine Ford filters for example " that is stupid because Ford dont make filters or clutches or most parts for that matter.
You try and sell them Mann Hummel filters for cars and you get them wanting GENUINE filters yet you look at the old filter and its Mann Hummel.
Its the same with plugs and exhausts..The list goes on.
Then you get the excuse that if they fit the Mann filter they wont be able to claim warranty if the engine develops a fault.
Many manufacturers are trying to con people into using them for servicing while their car is still under warranty or their warranty becomes null and void.....What a load of guff. And people are believing them. Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

used to work in an austin rover dealer about 20 years ago , and had Unipart filters. well the unipart filter for i think the Honda Accord at the time , when you opened the box had japanese writing on it , it was exactly the same as the honda filter ............ guess who bought them from us , the honda dealer , because he could buy them from us cheaper than from honda! Confused
so some things never change. cheers gordon
