Bond Minicar mark E 1958 Bought just over two years ago as a rolling shell and boxes of bits. Now assembled and in running order but needs finishing and tyres etc. The body was resprayed by the previous owner.
I now want to sell the car as it is taking up room in the shed that I need for other things like storing parts for the A60
Spare parts and books etc go with the car

A friend and myself drove his Bond Minicar mark F (1959) with 250cc Villiers from Essex (where I lived then) to John O'Groats. We did this in summer 1960 and it took days to get there. We went via Sharps Commercials who built them in Preston. Just south of the town we filled up with petrol without the mixed oil. Result - one seized up motor. We managed to free it, smother it in oil and limp into the factory. They were absolutely marvellous! They pulled the motor apart in a few seconds flat and worked on her for a while, fitting new rings. The bore wasn't too bad, so they ignored that. They charged us a ridiculusly small amount and half the factory came and waved us off! We had no further trouble other than severe headaches from the buzzing 2 stroke motor! That was the year when every man and his dog drove their Bond Minicar to J O'Groats. Great fun, but I wouldn't want to do it again!
Being a glutton for punishment, a couple of years later I bought a mark C for five quid. That finally cured me of Bond Minicars!!!
Thanks for jogging my memory!!
