Hello all,

A pal of mine has mailed me these pictures that he took of a 1953 Ford prefect. This motor had been stored away as a non-runner ( engine problem) for about fours years. It seems a shame that these motors get left unwanted and unused like this.

I have the photographers permission to place these pictures on forum.

regards flywheel. ( john)

The new owner is trying to sort the engine out. It seems all the bits are there , perhaps it will get back on the road soon.

Cheers

I shouldn't think it needs rescuing buzzy...unless they're putting a V8 in there! Razz

Hi all,

Yes i think the new owners are planning to put the car back on the road as soon as they can. They took the engine out, and found a number of valves burnt out, hence the non-runner.
I think there was mention about a V8 lump to go in with the rest of the conversion, but; its an original tidy motor with all its history,so they may just do up the side-valve lump and keep it original.

My pal said he would keep me updated on progress with some more pictures soon.

Regards Flywheel.( john)
