Hi

Just been out to have a look, soak up some of the sunshine which we rarely have and rode the PF down, as I thought it was a nice day!

Saw Rick and his dad there, and it was quite a good day, a nice ride too!

yeah good to bump into you and the PF. While we were walking back I showed mum and dad the small memorial for the USAAF pilot in WW2 who crashed somewhere nr town in a Thunderbolt

Hi

Yep, I remember looking at that when my Granddad was alive, we used to go for a walk by the river, and then he used to tell me how they never recovered the plane, so it is somewhere down there!

was your grandad living around there when it went in?? yup the pilot and P47 sank down quite quickly and were never pulled out

I don't think he was, I think he was in Wales at the time, or more to the point in the RAF so probably abroad somewhere.

Seemed to know alot about it though.
