This is our families pride and joy, I say that because our children James 7 and Lizzie 4 love it as much as we do.

We bought it 2004 and feel in love the moment we saw it. Mike (the husband) prefered the series Snipe to all the other series snipes, with it's single headlamps, 3 litre engine and American styling. This one an automatic box and power steering. All we have had to do to it is add seat belts to the rear, as when we got it our little girl was 14 months old. In due course we will add belts to the front.

During the summer we use it quite a lot, taking it to local and national classic and Hot Rod shows, as well as to the local supermarket to do the weekly shop!

It's a beauty.
Nice colour scheme too, and I think more classics should wear whitewalls as they really add that special touch.

Hello giggles

Just a quick line to say i like the look of your humber.
I was down at the local pub the other day on one of my old motorbikes and an fellow approached me and offered my two humbers.
One is a 1965 model and the other is a 1967 MK5 A.
The '67 model is a runner . has twin carbs, power steering, disc brakes and is fitted with the rare 3 speed auto. he went on to tell me that they where in a barn on his fathers farm at a little town called Curlewis which is about 5 hours from my place.

I wasnt all that interested until the bloke mentioned that they where free to a good home. and he went on to mention that he can have them delivered by his treucky mate to my house for free.

Me being the softy for anything old or no longer in production agreed to his generous offer. Not too sure what i will do with them when they turn up on my doorstep, but at least they will be saved from their sentence of being crushed to death at the wrecking yard in the next few weeks.

I will post some pictures when they are in my possession.
regards
Reddo... in OZ.

Thanks for posting the pics giggles, I was sooooooo tempted by a quad headlamp Super Snipe years ago, chauffeur driven from new, back seat never sat in, the only downside was slightly crusty arches at the back (usual story). It was maroon with light (tan?) interior. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it at the time (I must have been 21ish) so it passed me by Rolling Eyes

The series 3 that came out in 1961, was the first to have the twin headlamps. It also was the first Snipe to have orange indicators.

You can see the difference between the series 2 and the later series car, the green and cream one I think is a series 4.

I think the Super Snipe was first car produced in the UK with twin headlamps. Wink

I just got a 1962 Super Snipe. Good condition generally, I love driving it - you get so much attention from people.

I suspect it will be a bit of a fuel-hog, only got it 3 days ago, so too early to tell!

G'Day Reddo,

I think you'll find most of them have auto boxes, indeed in Oz, I've never seen the 'Series' Super Snipe with a manual box (although maybe there are some about?).
