LB 9713 - a Minerva, perhaps their 18hp model.

FC 259 - a Starling(?), maybe their Royal model.

Scotty.

Cheers Scotty, this is part of some research a friend is doing in association with the Royal College of Ophthalmology as part of a new exhibition about optical instruments, of which these vehicles were owned by a man working within that field. My friend wanted to identify the cars as part of the up coming exhibition and wondered if anyone could confirm that FC 259 is a Starling?

Looks different, but this is listed as a 1908 advert:

Cheers Wrinx, it certainly is similar though not sure if it is a Starling, just found another view of FC 259:

This guy must have been loaded apparently owning 4 cars in 1908, including this addition: LC 9759.

Although low res images they appear to be another Minerva, though I'm not 100%.

I'm really intrigued with the positioning of the lamp at the side of the drivers seat on the bodywork, and assuming there's a matching one on the passenger side they seem a bit far back to be of much use, particularly so on the drivers side with the spare tyres in front of it.

Even if the tyres weren't there the obstructions remaining must have almost negated any useful light they produced, which wasn't exactly brilliant in the first place.

Great photograph though. Very Happy
