Interesting old video.
Wonder if this concept would work on a pontoon type boat?
May have to build a model of one to see. |

Hi
Interesting, there was a radio play recently about Geoffrey Pyke's Habbakuk Pycrete ship project, but he also designed a troop carrier called the Weasel and the first prototype used an Armstead instead of tracks .

I wouldn't like to fall off that tractor, imagine what it could do to a person
In the 60's a similar thing was used on a much bigger machine for use in bogs and swamps. It used rollers with much sharper"tines",actually more like a huge machine screw thread. It was like a huge platform, with the driver perched on top.It was lauded as being the best thing since sliced bread, but I don't think many were sold.
I'm sure someone knows the machine I mean,as it crops up in various bits of film of that era. |
