I like guessing games... someone wiser than I am will recognise the distinctive engine rocker cover (OHV engine, then) and the location of the spark plugs. RH drive, spare wheel on the running-board - my opening bid is perhaps it's a Daimler, circa 1930? I bet worse cars than this have been restored! I hope it survives. |

No it's not a Daimler as it has a gear lever when the Daimler would have a preselect lever on the right of the steering wheel. Note the trigger for the reverse gear attached to the gear lever.
It could be prewar Italian as many had right hand drive in the 20s & 30s. _________________ Keep Torqueing,

Is the chain and padlock some sort of engine anti theft device?. |

That's some cooling fan too, or is it a propeller? |

Hi
Look at how big that chaps hand is in the first picture, either he is a giant or the car is a scale model! hehe
Cheers

Looks very similar to the 1932 Rover 12 I am working on at the mo with my friend Nigel.

There are some strong similarities aren't there! Any Rover Sports Register members out there to comment? |

Sorry Paul I see more differences than similarities.
Rover has:
Suicide front doors
Angled filler pipe
Moulding in the doors under the windows
No drip rails above the windows
Star in centre of wheels for hub caps
No spare wheel well in front wing
Rear window is squarer in shape.
The search continues. _________________ Brian

I thought Peter had it with the Morris. The louvres on the side are an odd pattern. There's about 8, a space, and then some more. OK the car in question also has sidemounted spare wheel but maybe a bigger Morris than Peter's

Hi Rick
Look at the louvre pattern on the green car behind the Bullnose
http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/photos-tatton0804/morris_cowley_5.htm Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a separate picture of that car on it's own.
Looking through some of the photo albums I notice that Austin 7's and 10/4's had that 2 part louvre layout but you don't seem to have any bigger ones of that sort of era. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Was it an Austin 10/6 ? The Austin 7 had a two blade fan, so they maybe made a larger version for 10/4 and 10/6. |

Does anyone have interior dashboard shots of the early 30s Morris 10/4 and Rover 12 ?
The shape of the instrument panel and glove box apertures might help in identification. |
