I've been asked to assist in repairing / re-assembling a training aid now owned by the museum that was once used to teach budding motor engineers and students many years ago, something that is turning out to be a nice "wee job" -
Now you would think being an East German model everything would be metric, but I'm informed by my partner we require size 10 and 11 BA nuts & bolts, however, we're having difficulty locating such a small size. Despite telephone calls to everyone we can think of we haven't located a supplier - can any model engineers out there suggest a supplier please?
Thank you in anticipation, Scotty. |

Ain't it a bitch though Jim - its hard work trying to find a set of feeler gauges small enough to fit the tiny valve rockers! LOL! |

Scotty
I am sure we all want more pictures as your work progresses.
Can you tell us how big it is? - I need an idea of scale.
A few years ago a friend bought a Triumph Herald rolling chassis, engine and gearbox from a College in the North East that had been used by students for many years and had never been on the road.
There was no wear at all in the moving parts, but because it had been dismantled so many times there was wear in the threads and nuts, and proved quite difficult to recommission. It lives on under an early Herald Coupe body. _________________ Brian
