For me it all comes down to what was it like before the modifications - if it was a nice stock car then I'm against this level of change. However if its a scrapper, with a rusted out body, etc then going this way at least gives it a new lease of life.

The moment I saw the picture this popped into mind -


It was a Revell or Monogram kit of a Modified '55 Chevy back in the late 1960's, took me 4 weeks of saving my pocket money to buy it out of the Clyde Model Dockyard in Glasgow - happy days" Cool

I agree but being an old drag racer I like the unique gasser style drag cars too. Very Happy

Cool I've seen the A40 at Hot Rod shows and without opening that can of worms, it's very well done and on the road being used, not moth balled in someone garage.

I believe it's an Anglia, hence the name. It's one of a group of similar cars that race regularly up the quarter mile at Santa Pod, Shakespeare Raceway & York.

The front hub is 4 stud, was that standard on 50's UK fords?
What rim size and PCD did they use

The original would have been 5 stud with 17" rims.............'Sporty!!' Laughing
