Kiri dropped me a line - her boyfriend retrieved an old bike from a skip, and is trying to identify it:

"I was wondering if you could help me.
My boyfriend recently pulled an old bicycle out of a skip (why it was in a skip I don't know as the only thing wrong with it is that it's a little rusty, and the tyres were flat) and we are trying to identify it. The only things we can find to identify it so far is that the gear hub says 1953, and there is a worn bike badge which so far we have had no luck in identifying!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/soapbeard/3496086011/ this is a picture of the head badge/decal and the decal that runs up the seat post. http://www.flickr.com/photos/soapbeard/3495190834/ and this is the bike itself.
I don't know if you are the right person to ask but I found your old bicycles page and hoped that possibly you might be able to help, or know someone who might be able to help!
Many thanks,
Kiri Williams"

I am not into cycles without motors but this one is close to one once owned by a neighbour and that one was a Royal Enfield . Regards The Fly .

This won't really help I'm afraid but the chain wheel doesn't seem like a Royal Enfield one, of course this may be a replacement.

Hi
I have been looking for a bike badges site like the car badges one, unforunately I have so far been unsuccessful.

But maybe a couple of brand names might trigger memories in others.

Rudge or Hudson

I'm sure it isn't a Hercules or Raleigh badge
of course beingis a transfer it may have been applied by a previous owner in place of the original badge, so it may have no particular significance.
