Hello All,
Can anyone tell me the approx unladen weight of a 12 foot, mid-fifties, Stephens-West, Stirling Castle caravan. Also, any ideas on the width/height (in other words, will it fit in my shed)?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi
I have a 1958 Stirling and I have a photocopy of an original leaflet for the 1960 models.
The leaflet shows for the Stirling 12 length is 12ft overall length 14ft 6ins, width overall 6ft 6ins, headroom 6ft 7ins, ht overall 8ft estimated weight is 13 to 14cwt.
Dont know if this is of any help to you.
Sorry haven't responded sooner but have been away (in the Stirling!)
Are you restoring this? if so good luck
All the best

Hello Clarina/Gill,
Thanks for the reply.
Picked up the "Stirling" today, from Scotland.
She is actually a 1963, 12' model, newly named "Hattie".
She is in much better condition than I had anticipated and only needs a bit of tidying, really, ready to use now.
We have been using a '59 "Penguin" for the last few years, which we have out-grown, I suppose, fantastic for one or two nights away, but no more, really.
Regrettably the "Penguin" will be going on Ebay soon, and then there is the "Palladin", approx 1950, unknown model, to sort out, restore/sell/turn into a shed quandry...............
Toodleoo
