Hi
Yeah it will one day, and is not quite as far gone as that one rick! hehe
I have been trying to get her to run for my last four or five visits, starting to get a bit dis-heartened now. I mean the fuel pump and starter motor broke today, starter working on and off, the other peeing fuel out everywhere!
I was tempted to bump start her behind the fergi today, but had no wheels on, as thay are having hte tyres changed so couldn't do that either!
I want to get her to run, then I can buid the front up, do the electrics and then get her to run again, then it is is a matter of building accessories up for the mot!
Cheers

you're not spraying it for the time being therefore.
will you do it as a running project or wait to gain some experience on painting first? |

Hi
I want her Mot'able then I will slowly titervate her to a position where I can spray her, I have never sprayed an entire car, but have done a fair bit of prep, and sprayed quite a few indervidual items, so should be fun, to have a go at a car.
I will have a look in the starter, and the fuel pump.
I am thinking of getting it so the fuel pump and starter works and then getting my mate in for a day, probably have to pay him, but it sure would speed things up!
Cheers

once the starter is working ok I'd be inclined to:
- check that there is a spark and compression
- check timing is ok
- fill the carb float chamber with fuel and maybe pop a drop down the carb just to gee things up a little
and see if it'll fire just on that slug of fuel
Make sure there are no air leaks on the inlet side of things - also remember to plug up the outlet on the manifold that feeds the vacuum wiper (easy to miss this)
If it fires up and runs for a few seconds, then all you need to do is cure the leaky pump and you're halfway there
