Jon sent me some photos of an old van he's come across. It's a 1950s Trojan, diesel powered. But he's curious to know what model is might be, and whether anyone would be interesting in taking it on? Apparently it belongs to an elderly gent who has quite a few old motors dotted about his property in similar condition to this, the rest sound fairly run-of-the-mill but if nothing else, the Trojan warrants rescuing I think...

It looks very restorable to me, the key thing is to establish the condition of the bodywork hidden in the undergrowth!!

I've seen a picture of this Trojan before, I can't remember where but I think it was Practical Classics. Anyway I think the man who sent it in said he used to walk past the Trojan and Morris every day to school in the early 70's, and he recently went back to see if they were still there, and was surprised to find they are! I hope the Trojan is restorable, but just look at how the bonnet has rusted through on the Morris Shocked

RICK,

Many thanks for posting the pix of the Trojan.

As I said, there is another Trojan behind it. The second is too far gone, apart from the bonnet, which is made of chunky fiberglass..!!!

I will get more pictures soon, along with the other old vehicle lying about.

It would be great to get some info on these trucks and see if there is anybody out there willing to take them on as a restoration. Although the truck pictured has it's rust spots, it is, mainly, quite solid with only a few holes here and there.

The next step is to get inside the rear of it and take some pix of that and try to get some of the underneath.

The only info I had from the owner is that the Trojan was a first in two areas:
Commercial VAN fitted with a Diesel ????
Was fitted with Tube-Less Tyres....???

Is this correct..??

Thank you to all for any info that comes my way..

Jon
