One of the more unusual applications of the Otto Four Stroke Cycle. This engine/pump has no piston, and the only moving parts are the inlet and exhaust valves.

What a fascinating thing! I'd never come across one before. Just think what you could do with a Humphrey followed by one of these..

Thanks Peter. That type of Hydraulic Ram was quite popular in Australia wherever there was a flowing stream. Although fairly expensive to buy, their running cost were nil, and maintenance minimal.

One had to be careful on a sheep property, Hydraulic Ewes were harder to locate!

Yup, with that climate in Aus I'm sure you can grow almost anything if you just add a little water.
