From previous messages you will know I am interested in hearing from women who drive vintage cars .This little gem of a book by John Prioleau was published in 1925.I managed to buy it from ABE BOOKS who deal in rare and antique books.
I was delighted to hear that any woman driving a car at that time should be prepared to have a sensible tool box and be able to carry out repairs!
A hydraulic jack is recommended ...
These are only two pages of it.Much of it is quite relevant today including rude and selfish motorists and hold ups on the roads .
A truly wonderful book.

I have a similar book somewhere. It advises that if you go on a two week holiday: you make arrangements with a nearby garage to give your car a service after the first week. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

My grandparents used to travel from Edinburgh to Cornwall for their holidays
with my mother driving them in their 1928 Morris Oxford flatnose so even after the getting there journey I guess the chassis would need serviced.
The car was their's but my mother was just trying the bike for size. She later bought a bike and also travelled the length of the land on that too.
She never sat a driving testand never had an accident in 60 years of motoring.

Yes, apparently my grandfather was a dreadful driver so my mother did most of the driving in that family.
Kind of like you, I did toy with the idea of buying a 1928 Morris Oxford just to experience some of what my mother had done but the flash Harry in me prevailed and I bought the old Jag instead.
