Another one to tickle the grey matter. Gaylen sent this pic over, does anyone recognise make/model??

-----------
" It has a Villiers engine serial # 580/2883. The frame # is AU/565. The headlight and tail light housings have an emblem with what looks like a lighthouse and the words British Miller Made. The gearshift lever comes up through the fuel tank. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated."

I believe that this is the same as the first bike I had before I was old enough to ride on the road, I rode it in the back garden.
It is a James, with Villiers ML 125cc engine, made in Gough Road, Birmingham. The lamps were made by Miller Electrical, also in Birmingham (about 200 yards from Norton Motors).
I will go up in the loft and have a look at the owner's handbook, amongst my collection, for this model and confirm this. I still have most handbooks and Villiers parts books for all post war James and Francis-Barnett motorcycles. _________________ Keep Torqueing,

| Well I bought a frame with a serial no. AU/xxx and I asked on the British two stroke yahoogroup, and they say it's a Waratah..... you have heard of them right? <grin> basically it's rebadged Excelsior or Norman, or ??? , assembled in Australia. http://users.bigpond.net.au/simonfleming/ausmc/am-waratah.html There is a yahoogroup for Waratah. I'm in the central part of the states (usa) let's say I'm the only one on my block with one, dang hard to find parts also, well keeping your arms and legs..... tt |
