Went to the Henham steam rally with my son last sunday (20th sept) and as I said in the title forgive me for this but Chris was due to fly out to Afghanistan for eight months with his unit on that day but due to logistical problems it was put back one week and he flys out early sunday the 27th of September. He managed to get a 72 hour pass so we took advantage of this and had a day out. Chris polished the car to perfection and as a treat I let him drive around the ring, he's a big classic car fan too and plans to get something when he gets home again. Here are a few photo's taken on the day.
God speed son and keep safe out there

Steve - would you please give my best regards to your son and thank him (and his squaddie mates) from me for the duty they do for us here at home - without these brave young men & women the world would be a much more dangerous place to live.
Thank you Chris. |

Steve,
You are NOT being self indulgent. He is a credit to you and to the UK.
I hope that he had a most enjoyable day at the steam rally with you before his tour of duty starts. I wish him and his mates a safe return. Our Aussie boys are out there as well.

What is the fantastic car? A Rover 14 Sports Saloon?
Looking very very nice. Only yesterday I was visiting a friend who has a similar car. |

Nice car - also good to see one that is not owned by someone middle aged or even older.
Perhaps I ought to link this to the RSR Forum _________________ Rover P2

If you want phil dont forget though thats my car and I am most certainly middle aged (47) though to be fair I've bucked the trend where one is supposed to buy a car that reminds them of their youth, if that was the case I should have an alegro or such like (not saying theres anything wrong with that though) |
