Always had a soft spot for those as my grandparents had a camper version in the mid 60's.
Thanks for posting! |

Very smart but why do so many owners lower the suspension and fit different wheels? _________________ Keep Torqueing,

It seems mainly Splitties here that get lowered-very rare to see Bay models.
Ours have always been standard as we go camping and enjoy offroad and tracks.

It has always amazed me how the VW split screen & indeed the bay window bus has evolved through time. I passed my test in a 1962 devon splittie back in 1972, they certainly have an endearing charm.
I am not a fan of them being lowered etc but at the end of the day the only reason they have kept so popular & so many have survived is because the young generationss through the dacades love em.
The down side (unless you own one ) to that is that because of the demand for them it has banged up the price you have to pay for one.
So thanks for posting Brookie, great to see. |
