Hi
Not sure, if this is the right place, but can't see a area for tractors, so thought it was a bit comercial.
I bought a TEF 20, about the smallest tractor you can get.
I have been working on it for a few days, and it in a roadworthy state now, bar registering it (Mondays job) and it will need a clutch putting in, so splitting my take place next week too.
I have put the battery on, on the new battery tray I got, new front tyres and tubes, and put a horn on it. New battery of course!
It seems to be a good little runner starting fairly well, (touch wood), I think the water pump is seeping too, keep an eye on that until I have time to put a seal kit in it, ans it seems to be a bit smokey, nothing too bad from the look, but will monitor for oil use.
I have called it Farran, as it means old iron grey, perfect!
I will get some pics later in the week.
Cheers

| Sweet, when you said you'd bought a tractor I was hoping for a Fergy! My grandparents used to live not far from Barnard Castle, and across the narrow track outside the house was a farm and the owner had about 3/4 Fergies, one of them was red and at least one (can't remember but I think it was the grey one) had a basic body over the seat and steering area. Also had about four wrecks scattered about in one of the fields I used to walk through |

Hi
Got it registered today, and they gave the tax disc and number over the counter, I thought it would come to me from swansea, so I checked I was legal to drive and I am. I have bought a new jerry can, one for diesel, and will fill the tractor up, then go and hold some traffic up later at 10mph! he he
It still needs the clutch doing, but that will have to wait now, due to parts being ordered this week!
Cheers
Dave
P.S... Locals steer clear of nantwich this pm if you are in a rush!! |

Hi
Well I have done 5 or so miles on her and need to do the same after tea to get her back to my shed, went a long way round to get here. It was good fun though!
Anyone know if you can get breakdown assistance for tractors, as my fergie is lighter than the Ford!
Cheers

Yes, they have to follow most of the rules
Number plates should conform to the letter sizing and style for its year!!
If not being used for agricultural purposes, tractors must use white diesel not red (rebated fuel)
All must carry a rfl (Road Fund Licence) even though it shows nil cost
They are even talking of tests for ag mmachines in the tractor mags!! |

Very nice Dave
I've got a couple of tree stumps that need pulling out - fancy a trip to Essex? _________________ Brian

Hi
Thanks, yeah they have to be registered over here, do they not need that over with you?
At about 8mph, Essex might be a touch too far! hehe But I fancy ripping tree stumps up yeah! hehe
Tractors are all easy to drive, the modern examples are much easier than these. You have 20 odd gears in the new ones and they are shifted by a button. These old ones are also easy, just set the hand throttle to the required spot, and all you need to do is steer most of the time!
Cheers
