Well.... it first went to Iain's for evaluation and bodywork....
I got the engine home, pictured, stripped, checked out, bored out, converted for unleaded, then I had the task of re-assembly, which I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed.
Any questions or comments most welcome...
Mike

Cheers Peter you are way too kind. I've taken pictures all along. Here's one of the crank and pistons after reassembly..

Do you have any more pics of the van before work started, such as in your first pic, always like to see them before being touched - ie 'as found'
bet you were pleased to find it!!

Yeah sure Rick - I have Harvey from the Register to thank for it. A real gem...

yep - that was one of the stipulations of Harvey letting me have it - keeping the signwriting. it's all been traced off, ready for re-applying next year. I'm told it's extremely good quality gold leaf.

super!!
perhaps a slight matting applied to the paint, so that it doesn't look like brand new paint maybe???
but whatever it'll be a real cracker when done!

buzzybee - a certain Ford pickup has some nice old signwriting on the doors and above the screen too, obscured by paint that A.N.Other applied (ie not me) but is just visible on one door, and should re-appear with a careful flatting back on the other

Well I'm in the hands of the signwriter for that one. It's good enough to keep, but with the new paint job, I can't...
Current status is shown below... Basically I am waiting for some new rear suspension U bolts to arrive to allow GPH to roll again.. Rebuilt front axle on, rebuilt steering box on but not painted, chassis primed, and I'm itching to get on..

Did you just use normal artists tracing paper to copy the signwriting, before the bodywork was re-done?
