Whenever I need to take a tyre off I just lay it flat on the ground in front of the offside front wheel. Then with the door open, so that I can see what I'm doing, I drive the car over the tyre so that the front wheel just squashes the tyre on the ground. Having done a bit I get out and turn the wheel around to another part and repeat the process until it pops off.
