|
|
Hi all
Ive never done any paint spraying but need a small spray gun to paint my wheels. I also will need to do some stone cchips and small areas of my Lotus body work at some point. Ive got a fairly decent compressor and was looking at this little gun in machine mart.
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/tg2-professional-touch-up-gun/path/spray-guns-spraying-equipment-air-brushes
would something like this be any good? Or is it better to get a normal size one?
Many thanks

I have one of the small guns and they are great for small touch is less paint is wasted cleaning and you can deal with very small areas provided light thin coats are used - very much like using an aerosol.
A proper gun is needed though for panel work _________________ Rover P2

I use an airbrush for small areas and parts, I got fed up of buying aerosols. You can buy air packs to power them or I use an electric tyre pump or I have made an adaptor for my compressor.
I found the first gun mentioned with the trigger on the top awkward to use.

Where ever you get you paint from will sell you the right thinners for the paint, its also worth geting a 5 litre can of cheap (gunwash) thinners to clean up afterwards.

Ok so I bought some POR15 engine enamel I am using to paint the centres of my alloy wheels. It says you can thin not more than 20% so was wondering what I should use? _________________ Im looking for an Elan plus 2 for my next resto project...if you see one think of me please!! |

Frosts do POR 15 solvent £10.50 a quart. They recommend 20% dilution. _________________ When I exhibit a car I get the Shudders. People queue up to tell me.
