Today's paper here at Le Mans:-

Firemen were called to a house where the porch had caught fire. The son, aged 16, had decided to clean his moped engine with petrol. Then to dry it he got out his cigarette lighter.............

Any comments?

Talking of Petrol!!

We had a huge leak at work yesterday, a car had a fault, which rapidly emptied a big tank onto the floor. All lights were rapidly switched off, and the offending car pushed outside. We useed a few bags of grit to clean up and then put them in a sack, which the petrol melted through, so we put them in a wheely bin, at which time I had to go to sort a tractor out. Not been in today, but one thing that did look good, was how clean the floor was!

Dodgy stuff petrol, we use it in everyday life, but it can soon cause a hazard!

Cheers

Dave

I'd be tempted to do the same if I had to ride a moped - perhaps leaving the cleaning stage out!!

I quite fancy a moped to potter to work on, can go no faster than about 25mph in nantwich anyway due to traffic, and the saving on fuel may makesense, it may happen this summer!

In spite of my post above I do have an uncremated Puch Maxi in a shed - it used to belong to my wifes deceased Uncle.
Was going to try it but I can't start the wretched thing - bags of spark and fuel so I suspect as it has stood since 1973 the crank seals may be leaky.
Never have any luck with two strokes - the only one I could start is an old Atco now in Ricks possession.

Hi

I have thought of older bikes, but we have a 125cc bantam in the shed, never use it, I would be happy with a nice little scooter I think.

I think the D3 came out 6 times last year!

Anyone know what a D1 and D3 are worth?

Cheers

Dave

Had a friend, 18 stone, Not a wiegth problem he was a big man, he had a honda 50

Used to look like he was sitting on a stool with a wheel on either end.

When trying to get up Haverstock hill, Hampstead, quite a steep incline, he would be sitting on the bike throttle wide open and walking up the hill.
Had many a local in stitches

I know what you mean.
Saying that though its worth monitoring what other people are getting for theirs on the site even if you don't go there yourself.
