As the previous poll seemed a little unreliable, just a normal thread now - I'm interested to hear about your favourite era(s) of cars. I suppose they could be loosely grouped in the following way
1. 1900-1919
2. 1920-1939
3. 1940-1959
4. 1960-1979
5. 1980-onwards
For many years cars of the 50s and 60s appealed to me, but lately it is group 2 (1920-1939) that holds most interest for me now.

Group 2 is my main interest. Group 3 follows, but I have very little interest in the rest!

From a pure interest point of view, Group 1 for me.
That is the period when all of the 'new' ideas were being developed and tested in the market, after that it was a time of refining those inventions.
Ownership interest would have to be Group 2 to provide reliable daily transport, but unfortunately money (or the lack of it) dictates Group 3.
Sorry Rick, I can't give a simple answer! _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

I'm interested in all of them, though virtually nothing past 1990. Group 3 is probably my favourite. _________________ Richard Hughes |

Groups 1 to 4. My Riley is in Group 4 but was launched during Group 3. Anything later than 1970 is 'modern' to me. |

I have to be a little akward and say groups 3 & 4 interest me the most. Probably because I grew up with them. _________________ Web links:1972 2000 SC P6

sorry but its got to be group 2 1/2 that is cars of pre war design but built into the late forties. Owning a 1949 Rover P3 I always get grouped in the post war class at shows where I believe it has more in common with the pre war cars in looks and build style. group two should have a later cut off date and group three start when the new post war designs start to come in |

2 and 4 for me based on what i've got.. but then i love some of the 50's styling so 3 as well.
then again i also like some of the 80's/90's hot hatches, mk1/mk2 golfs, e30 m3 etc so that also makes me group 5.
sod it.... anything with four wheels and an engine will do.
1,2,3,4,5 for me! |

I would have to say groups 3 & 4...... But then if I see a nice vehicle and like it, it doesn't matter what age, make or colour it is |

Anything 1972 and older with a few newer exceptions.
Have a soft spot for the early 40's and like working on the 60's models. |

4 then 3 then 5 for me, although I have often been tempted to try something pre-war. |

I only have group 4 cars but thats because I cant afford anthing else and the fact that I do not want to sell what I already have but add more to them.
I have been interested mostly in this group before and also a bit in group 3 but lately find myself liking a lot pre war cars especially 1930s!!
However as mid said I like anything with 4 wheels and also 3 and 2
even like some of the 80s and early 90s cars though I do not consider them classics but still find some of them interesting. |
