I had a bulb fail in a warning light on the dash.No disgrace since it has been in situ for years,so many that I had forgotten what a nightmare it is behind the dash with a maze of cables, heater control cables, choke levers etc, etc.
I was obliged to locate the bulb holder blind, just feeling my way thro' the spaghetti, and eventually prised it clear of its housing.I had got a few bulbs from the local auto shop in readiness for this "five minute job"and duly fitted one in the bulb holder and spent another fraught period getting it back thro' the blockages and close to its housing but failed, dismally,to get it to locate in its housing.
I eventually gave up for the day, convinced that I would damage something else if I continued.Next day a repeat performance but no joy.
Finally I reluctantly retrieved the bulb holder to check if I damaged it and had caused it to fail to seat in its socket.Nothing.Then I checked the bulb and found the profile of the glass differed, preventing it seating correctly! |

The things one normaly damage are knuckles and self esteem. I have done that one too, lucky you did not break the glass and end up with a cut finger tip. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1
