Nostalgia - my father had one of these in the late fifties - one of a succession of bangers. Eventually scrapped as the dynamo went and not worth repairing. Really not a proper Lanchester as Daimler owned them then and they became that companies cheaper line but their even cheaper line was the BSA saloon on a similar chassis but with side valves.
Fluid flywheel and preselector box but only 1200 cc or so I think so won't set the world alight. Memorably described by Lord Montagu as "an inoffensive little car" I recall.
Not the prettiest body I've seen but could be a bit of fun - don't know what it would cost to return to use - Hydraulic brakes so thats one job plus engine possibly and hope the preselectors are OK or ££. Would have to be cheap.
Edited to add - I read somewhere that they always looked torpedoed due to the underslung rear chassis! _________________ Jonathan Butler
