We're heading down to Ironbridge on Friday for a weeks holiday - can anybody suggest some good places to visit that are vehicle related please?
We're going to "do" the Gorge museums, but it would nice to see what else the surrounding area can offer - something round about a 50 mile radius from Much Wenlock would be good.
Thanks guys. |

The Llangollen Motor Museum is worth a look, then you can carry on over the horse shoe pass to Ruthin, a nice drive out with good weather, more exciting in the winter though! hehe |

In Much Wenlock there's a cracking old garage, must be from the 1920s, still with original old lettering above the doors. I've driven by a few times but never seem to have my camera with me for a proper stop, and nosey around. MW is tiny so shouldn't be hard to find
RAF Cosford isn't far away either, one or two roadgoing vehicles usually to be found (entry is free, which is nice, and an eatery available for a quick bite).
Mouldsworth Motor Museum is a neat place, if not the biggest museum around. Might be a little too far away from MW, but if you find yourself somewhere in the Chester region, worth a look. Open Sundays and (some) Wednesdays only, check their site as it may be afternoons only from memory.
Buzzy's right about Llangollen being worth a visit, there used to be another museum at Betws-Y-Coed but the building seems to be shut up now, no signs or anything.

Thanks Buzzy & Rick - your suggestions are much appreciated.
I web checked out your places and they all look good - Cosford is having a Battle of Britain weekend this weekend, so that's a strong possibility for Sunday. |
