Just aquired this caravan. Looks like a high spec and it is in reasonable condition. Previous owner said that there was nothing wrong with it and there was no damp whatever. When I went to move the caravan, I found that they were not bein quite truthful! Front offside and rear offside handles came away. Inspection inside shows soft wallboarding behind the handle at the front and down the side wall into the bed box bottom.
Tomorrow I will put a dehumidifier into it and try to extract as much moisture as possible. There are two suspicious pieces of clear tape at the top of the front window, so I wonder if that is where the wet got in?
I believe that this model is traditional construction, so hopefully not too difficult to repair. Looks like the front panel is fibreglass, so do I remove that or try cutting away wallboarding from the inside. Anyone tackled one of these? |
