While letting the last of the typhoon winds die down I found this. It appears that that a firm was converting lorries to increase the payload by adding an additional rear axle. The Sussex being 4 - wheel drive and the Surrey standard 2 wheel drive with a a non driven axle added to enable the payload to be increased.
I believe that they could also have converted Dodge as well.
