Your right, I have fixed the original pump !! On taking it apart I found the diaphram was solid with conjealed petrol, and one of the small wires inside the cap had broken, so a good clean and a bit of solder and all seems well!!

I have been less busy in the garage recently but a visit to see Nic Jarman and his 8 along with the offer of a drive of his car renewed my enthusiasm. I have been doing lots of bits without much to show photographically.
Today I loaded up the rolling chassis to take it to be reunited with its body. Needless to say it poured down with rain, first time the car has got wet in 40 odd years !!
I hope to bring home both bits on Monday !!

I am pleased to say that my body tub has been reunited with its chassis, it now looks something like a car !!
The pictures below were taken today at the premises of the person who did the repair and paint job. The passenger door will be fitted on Tues and then I will be bringing the car home on my recently aquired trailor in order to continue the refit.
Apart from the body, doors and bulkhead that you can see the wings, bonnet, valances, running boards have all been repaired and painted.
Personall I am delighted with the two tone finish. In the pictures the red looks very red, but in real life is more burgundy (it is actually damask red).

All the repairs to chassis and bodywork were carried out by a father and son team, Robert and Chris Clubb who are based in Alpheton, Suffolk. They have done a brilliant job to an excetionally high standard, I am sure the car will look fantastic when it is back together.






I think it is fair to say that these picture do not do justice to the standard of the finish.
I am looking forward to cracking on now, still aimimg for a springtime MOT.

I finally got my chassis and body tub reunited and home in my garage last Thursday. I have started the reassembly, so far have fitted rear wings and valance, side windows and remade new floor panels.
I will take some more pics of the work done so far tomorrow (Tues).
One of the next jobs to do is to reconnect the wiring, I have a new loom that is roughly in place. I now need to work out where it all goes !!

Things all seem to be going well, as promised a few more pics.
Windows fitted, rear wings and valance, new floor and the wiring in the engine compartment and dash is done, so it now starts !!
The pic below of the interior is for Nic Jarman who is tryning to work out where to fit the retaining bar for his roof lining.


The next two were taken today (8th March) I have had the car for 6 months now, and I am still on target for a Spring MOT !!

Thanks everyone for the positive comments.
I have made a start on the interior, although the engine bay is not finished yet and the petrol pump is still playing up. But I couln't resist !!


I had the headlining done, and I am delighted with the result.

Feels like I am making good progress now. I fitted the front wings andd valance yesterday with the help of a friend, and tidied up the wiring in the engine bay.
The car actually starts and runs now, yesterday I drove it in and around my drive, the first time the car has moved under its own stem fo over 40 years, quite a milestone for me and the car.


I am now working on the trim now, this is the fun bit
