Hopefully in the near future we will get the seating replaced in our 1967 Nyala. When we had our Fawn we replaced it all with new 5 inch thick foam which all Cheltenhams had then had it recovered. Now this is where i am asking for help does anyone have any pictures of their interior as the last time we used a plain fabric and this time I might go a bit more fancy all the Cheltenham brochures are in black & white and you can not see the patterns or if buttons are fitted. Also what do you think of buttons are they a good idea or not? |

Buttons all the way, if not the material will roll around the sponge and look rubbish quite quickly, see plenty on Ebay 'Prefessionally Recovered' that look like a 20 min job with a Singer at home! Well worth it, maybe expensive but the cushions are a major part of the overall look of the interior. I have the issue of no cushions at all in my Thomson, so will have to work out a setup or find a similar model to compare. _________________ Mick

Hi Gilberry.
I had a 14ft Robin, sometime between 1976 and 1980. It had flowered pattern button and shaped upholstery.
I found this image of something similar, except for the color/pattern/caravan.
Previously my parents had various Sprite's, one of them had been re-upholstered in very fine buttoned fabric. I think all caravan folk know that there is a lot of "bum sliding" with caravans.
I quite liike buttoning, it keeps the fabric much tighter and free from wrinkles
It is amazingn how, with a little experience, we can get ourselves into the seats with ease.
