Hi All,
I have a Cheltenham Nyala, (still no heater in it!!)
I met some of you at Belvoir Castle Steam rally last year.
I had a very very bad restoration job done on my caravan last year, and now we are trying to sort it.
So, off side panel is off, and most of the interior is out.
I would like some advice.
What sealer should I use when I put the window, and eyebrows, and side panel back on.
I have read lots of reviews and I don't think I want to use Silkaflex 516, I just may need to do future work and the reviews say it is difficult to get applied items away from this sealer.
Should I use a butyl type sealer?
Thanks,
Jane |

from one jayne nyala owner to another one just over the border - when you put the windows back in if they are fixed ones use the RAC if you pm me i will give you the number of the bloke who came and done ours last year as for sealant give the club a ring and they will help out if not we have a good little chappie in norwich who looks after us, there is another nyala near us up near sandringham so it must be a good area for them |

I have used this Butyl Mastic before. It stays sticky, seals joints and is flexible so doesnt crack letting water in. Its also easy to get apart again if needed, Im going to be getting loads for my Glenalmond Restoration! _________________ Mick

Hello,
RAC,sorry but when did they start restoring caravans.?
As for sealants just use good quality trade products that we have used in the restoration of period properties for years.
Visit a good trade outlet,we have a family company where we live called Toolfix,(no not screwfix),they keep us up to date with all the latest products on the market.
The lads at Toolstation in our town are ok.
Keep away from Homebase,Do-It -All,Wickes etc,only muppets work there,sorry !!
Pity you do not live in this neck of the woods, seven double glazed windows and a patio door for £999.00 fitted.
Regards
Gresham |
