Old Service Station in East Dean, Sussex, England.
Firstly, thanks to Jeff, of Blights Motors in Bideford, for sending me this super photograph. It shows East Dean Service Station, a proper olde-worlde service station / petrol filling station / workshop that survives down in leafy Sussex, in Chichester just a short hop away from the Goodwood racing circuit. Apparently the workshop is still in use - an old corrugated tin workshop is just visible to the left of this shot. By the looks of it, the single Tokheim petrol pump (Team Spirit) doesn't see much use nowadays. Wouldn't this building look fantastic, sympathetically re-painted, with a few choice enamel signs and hand-operated petrol pumps to decorate it? The old telephone number, Singleton 665, is still visible on the sign, and an old tin MOT sign is still affixed to the side wall of the building.
