|Journeying back from a visit to an old Thames van, we drove back through Upton Upon Severn in Worcestershire and stopped off at John Pane's garage, which is very much still in use, unlike many older garage buildings. Although I don't know for sure, I suspect the Regal Garage must date back to the 1930s or 1940s. The core business is hiring out cranes, and the sale of fuel. There were several cranes in evidence, along with some cracking old breakdown / recovery trucks, including old Commers and the ex-military (WW2) American lorry shown below - manufacturer anyone?|
