Preview of the April 2005 Championship round at SnettertonEuropean Motorsport race preview[ Back to the XJ Team Page ]Jaguar Racing's newsletter April 17th 2005 Due to various circumstances regarding the racing calendar this year, our next races are at Snetterton again on 23rd & 24th April. This is convenient as we can use the data gathered last month to develop Howard's new XJ saloon. Since Howard's early retirement at Snetterton due to clutch problems, which have now been resolved, some further development has taken place on the car. The steering has been adjusted to allow more direct response and feedback for the driver. Also, the engine management system has been 'tuned' more, to hopefully produce more power. Unfortunately, the main development on the suspension will have to wait as the special components needed are still being manufactured!! Jim's car has aslo undergone work with a new fully worked racing head being fitted. This should give him back the extra power that was lost following the cylinder head failure at Donington. Not to be left out, Simon's car has had the glass windows replaced for a lightweight perspex, saving approx 30-40 lbs in unnecessary weight. Below are the proposed timings for the race meeting, these are subject to some changes!
