1970s Ford Transit Mk1 Camper.
Parked outside a corner Pizza shop is this tired looking Mk1 Transit. In the 1980s rust was much more prominent than it seems to be now (perhaps people own younger cars nowadays?) and manys the tatty old car that had matt black sills and lower body sides painted on to cover the rust. This old Transit shows just such a 'feature'.

Photographs of classic Fords, Transit Mk1 Campers and other old motors.
The Ford photograph above wasn't taken by me, but by G. King, and is shown on oldclassiccar with his permission. His photos were taken at various locations a few years ago, including photos of classic Fords such as the Transit Mk1 Camper shown above. From what I can tell, some of the cars and vans featured were seen at shows (eg at the NEC and Alexandra Palace in London), whereas others were spotted out and about in daily use, or parked up at the side of the road. If you own the Ford shown here, or know the story of this particular Transit Mk1 Camper, by all means get in touch. I'd be interested in showing similar photos of other Transit Mk1 Campers too, so if you can help please drop me a line.
