Rolls-Royce Silver Wing photograph.

Rolls-Royces of the 1930s were commonly re-styled by talented coachbuilders up and down the land. Later monocoque cars rarely attract the attentions of the coachbuilding fraternity which makes this Spur - based Silver Wing quite an unusual car. The bodywork was re-worked by Hooper. A partially open-top R-R sounds like a good idea although the bulky folded hood isn't particularly elegant in my opinion but must make for a pleasant ride for those sat in the rear quarters. Also note the rear spats.

Rolls-Royce Books Whether for the Silver Wing as shown below, or any other type of Rolls-Royce, it is worth having a look on Amazon for books, DVDs, Videos etc.

Can you tell me any more about this Rolls-Royce Silver Wing? If you're into these cars, or other types of classic Rolls-Royces, and would like to see your car featured in the Your Car Stories section at oldclassiccar, by all means get in touch as I'd like to feature as many original or restored Silver Wings as possible.

All the pictures featured here were taken by myself at the August event in 2004.

I've attended this show at Tatton for many many years. You can see some of the other 79 photos I took at the August '04 show on this page.
