Everflex roof repair
Part 6 looks at some of the problems George had with replacing the original Everflex roof covering, that the A90 Atlantic saloon has fitted as standard.
George's notes and photos are below, although they only hint at the aggro this part of the restoration must have caused! Several attempts were required to get it right.

"I did the offside today in the Sun and it was hot! It turned out better than
the nearside so I took all the staples out and did it again, it is now a
lot better but I still have the ripples round the rear window and the seams.
I don't think its worth taking off again so will have to see how it settles.
Its not easy and would have been better with someone smoothing it and holding
under tension whilst I stappled it. I wonder how they did this job in the
factory, it has taken me hours! I was really scared I would cut too much
off somewhere.
It does now look like I am getting somewhere which is nice. The windscreen
will go in soon but I will get some serious help with it, those glasses are
precious!"
"I had another 4th go at the Everflex as I was just not happy with the results,
too many ripples. I removed all the rear staples including the rear pillars
and pulled it in Sundays heat. I think its a lot better now and probably
good enough. Its taken me hours to do this part!"
Photos of the earlier attempts are shown below, with the final 2 pictures showing the Everflex roof after the fourth, successful, attempt at fitting the covering without wrinkling..
