Classic Vauxhalls.Cars from the 1930s through to the 1970s.![]() Download it free at www.oldclassiccar.co.uk I decided that it was high time that I add a Vauxhall screensaver to the growing list of classic car screensavers that can be downloaded for free, here at oldclassiccar.co.uk. This one, which can be downloaded further down the page, concentrates on the Vauxhall cars from the 1930s and 1940s, the chrome-laden years of the 1950s and 1960s, and the more restrained 1970s. Various Vauxhalls are included, mostly from the post-war era. The 'rock and roll' F Type Victor, and PA Cresta, appears a few times - these glitzy cars are really popular in old-car circles, hence their inclusion here. Later models, such as the HA, HB, and HC Viva also get a mention, as do the L-Type and E-Series cars. Earliest is a very swish 6 cylinder coachbuilt Vauxhall 12 or 14, from the 1930s. Two versions are available - the full screensaver (1.87Mb) has all 15 photographs, and the smaller version just 7 photographs (1.06Mb). Instructions (PC version only) 1. Click on either of the Vauxhall screensaver links (see further down) 2. When prompted, save the .exe application file to your PC C: drive & make a note of where you store it 3. Using Windows Explorer, find the file you just downloaded 4. Double click on the file (vauxhall.exe or vauxhall_small.exe) to fire it up 5. A grey window shows on screen 6. You can preview the screensaver before installing, just click Run 7. Any keypress or mouse movement will cancel the screensaver 8. To install the screensaver, click the Install option in the grey window 9. Thats it! the classic Vauxhalls screensaver is now installed 10. When you've had enough of it you can go back into your Display settings in MS Windows, and reset to another screensaver if you wish Pls note If you're not too confident with changing your PC settings in this way, it is probably best to get someone who knows more about this kind of thing to do it. It has been tested on my own PC (running Windows XP) and works ok with Internet Explorer 6.0 and Firefox 1.0 browsers. No guarantees, warranties or anything else that it'll work on every new or ancient PC out there! I can't take responsibility for anyone re-configuring their Windows settings by trying this - however it should be fine, but it does require a little knowledge by the user to install it.
