can somebody help me..

need to try engine before i put back in car, so want t run on bench just a short fire with out water in system that all. what is the wiring i need to do , i.e coil etc just simple plan.. thank

whoops sorry forgot it a 1800 for a mgb gt

Hi

Forgive me, as someone will correct me, but I did mine something like this. A Rudememntary circuit:-

Battery, obviously earthed to engine, then battery to coil, coil to dizzy and then the usual set up to the plugs. Then just remove the wire from the coil to cut it out. You will also need the starter wiring up, unless you have a handle.

Hope this helps, and please someone verify this or squash it, as I am non to clever with electrics, hence working on steam engines!

Earth coil body to a bolt on the engine.
Live feed to one side of coil, low tension lead to other side of coil.
Heavy earth to engine and live lead to starter motor
