As the Dodge isn't at home, and in a million pieces, I think it'll just be a general mugshot, probably next to the Devon Smile All the paints are going to be sourced from HMG when the time comes.

I'm going over to the Dodge tomoz anyway, see how its going with the wood framework installation.

I received some photos the other evening from Arnetts, who are doing the machine work on the engine. Thought I'd pop a few on here

Regrinding the crank

Bearing work

Big ends

Line boring the mains

Went over today to witness the first trial fit of the back doors into the replaced rear framework. No hinge holes drilled as yet, the hinges were just clamped on to the vertical pillars, allowing small adjustments to be made. The trial fit went well, the doors seem to fit in the hole aok.

Just a brief update, hope to pick the engine up on Wednesday, have arranged to hire a hefty plant trailer as I don't trust the floor in my ratty old trailer to cope with the weight Smile

Hi

Well I saw your plant trailer this morning, as I passed by, by your shed doors. How did the move go, is it safeley back with the bus, ready to go back in?

Cheers

Yes the engine is back over with the Dodge now. I think when the framing work to the main body has been done, attentions will turn to piecing the remaining parts of the engine back together. I need to source a brass elbow that connects to the oil pump in the sump, that has been damaged (not by me!) and either needs replacing, or some nifty repair work.

Hi

Thats good then, so the ash around the cab and back doors is more or less done?

If it is a normal type of elbow, go to Egerton Hydraulics at Waymills, Whitchurch, they normall find something you are after, really friendly too!

Cheers

Yup the wood isn't too far off from being fully installed.

Quick pic of the engine, back now in the workshop with the truck

Hi

Looks good, are you painting the engine simmilar to the chassis, not too shiny?

Egerton may have something like that, if not they may know somewhere to go, otherwise, "bearing man" in Shrewsbury are a big outfit!

Cheers

Yup I think it'll be done so as not to look like still-wet paint, if you see what I mean! received a copy of Car for the Connoisseur magazine today and the Dodge rebuild appears in there.

Yup, the people who are matching and supplying the paint (HMG in Manchester) sent out a press release regarding their involvement with the project, to something like 55+ publications, so it could be appearing in a few different mags Smile
