I'd not heard of this gathering before, so when news of its existence cropped up in conversation at a "do" the other day, plans were hatched to go down. For a mid-week evening gathering, the turnout was impressive. I took the PV, and found a few others Volvos there - a 144, two Amazon estates, a four-door saloon, and a P1800S. All in all a good bash, and it was good to see some cars that don't attend shows closer to our home.

The strange thing about the Wharf meeting which I think started as a Triumph meeting is locals (and I'm only a few miles away) never know when its on! Think I've managed to find out in advance and attend twice over the last 15 yrs otherwise you always hear after its been and gone. Even checked the web this year and could not find the date. Probably don't want us vintage types but still rather a pity - they certainly always say its an open meet. _________________ Jonathan Butler

It's the first time I'd heard of it, apparently it's held on the second Thursday of June, each year, and yes I think the organiser(s) are Triumph people in the main. I had a look on the pub's Facebook page, to see if updates are posted on there, but I couldn't see anything. I'll just have to try and remember for next year.

Second Thursday June - I'll try and remember for next year as well anyway but I thought it had been held later some years perhaps they have settled on this day now.
Was an interesting meet when I did go - perhaps see you there in 2014! _________________ Jonathan Butler
