OK..... now we've got the photos sorted out can somebody tell me all about the ducky little caravan..... who made it..when and how original it is.
I love the windows.... and the colour scheme on the outside .
It appears to be double skinned... kind of unusual for a 'van that size isn't it ?

Thanks for comments. It is double skinned using what I think is called Masonite, so I'm told. A type of hardboard material apparently. I am also advised by members of the Historic Caravan Club that the caravan is of 1934 /5 period. Unfortunately the manufacturer is unknown so I am hoping that somebody may come along with some info' regarding that. When I purchased the van a few months back it was in a sorry state cosmetically but the structure is perfect. So I have enjoyed myself with pots of paint both inside and out, I painted on the arch to the sides as I thought just a top half one colour and lower half another was a little less jolly! Maybe not everybodies cup of tea but I like it.
Looking at some HCC vid's on Utube I see that caravans are named, so I have named my one 'Appy Daze. |

And it looks like you have a very unique little 'van Bayliss Thomas that hasn't changed much since 1995.......... lucky you I say .

Thank you so much Old Van Man for posting the item up. I have'nt read it yet, but I am about to. Thanks again.
Well not much to read, but its certainly the van that I have just aquired. I was hoping the HCC could identify it for me! The van has a club sticker on the window 'Period-Classic Caravan Club' so maybe somebody on there can throw some light on it. |

As an update to this old thread, I was at the Transport Museum (carlton Colville) at weekend and they have an almost identical caravan to my old girl. (why the heck did I sell it, idiot) Anyhow there caravan was an mid fifties THOMPSON. The layout is identical and most other features also. So perhaps thats the mystery solved of this previously unidentified caravan. I want it back |

| Most forum members will realise now that I have bought another vintage van replacing the little thompson? van. I now enjoy an 1930 Eccles deluxe. Just need to sort an suitable vintage tow car. |
