JD's Minor 6cwt Pickup.
JD sent this over a while back, one of several classic motoring images of his that are now on the site. The vehicle shown is a late 1950s Minor pickup truck, similar in style to the Minor saloons but very different under the skin. Whereas the Minor saloons and travellers have a monocoque bodyshell (or "unibody"), the vans and pickups have a separate chassis frame beneath the cab and rear load bay. The commercial bonnets do not have the side strips on them, and the chrome strip in the centre of the bonnet is a simpler affair, without the raised 'M' badge usually found on the cars. The painted bumper doesn't feature overriders either.
