The original 928 design dates back to the 1970s when Porsche were lining up a replacement for the distinctive 911. In the end the 928 came and went and the 911 lived on. Unlike in 911s the (V8) engine of the 928 lives in the front and powers the rear wheels. More of a GT rather than sports car the 928 has an enthusiastic following. Engine size is 4997cc.

The 2006 running of the Audlem Festival of Transport took place on 30th July, and was the seventh time it had been held. The Porsche 928 S4 in this photograph was photographed during our day at this classic event held in Cheshire. All sorts of cars, motorcycles and tractors were on display, including a few light commercials for good measure.
